Are you ready for a Monster Hunter collaboration that will truly blow your mind? Well, it seems Wizards of the Coast heard the rumbling thunder of fan voices and is swinging into action with a refreshed Secret Lair x Monster Hunter Superdrop!
Just last week, gaming giant Wizards of the Coast announced the much-anticipated Secret Lair Monster Hunter Superdrop for Magic: The Gathering, initially slated for a hot December release. With four enticing drops priced at $29.99 each (or snag the foil edition for $39.99!), and all featuring Monster Hunter-themed reprints, it seemed like an epic win. But alas, the excitement fizzled.
Fans weren't shy in voicing their disappointment online. The gaming community felt the collab didn't hit that sweet loot spot, and it turns out their feedback reached the top brass.
"We're going back to the drawing board! The Secret Lair x Monster Hunter Superdrop fell short, and your voices were heard!" Wizards of the Coast declared. "We're stepping up our game and hitting pause to revamp the entire release."
In what can only be called a Monster Hunter-worthy twist, the company is revamping card selection and ensuring a seamless blend between the Magic world and the Monster Hunter universe. Capcom is all in too, offering a rare double down for fans to get hyped for a future drop worth waiting for!
This kind of rollback doesn't happen often, but when Wizards of the Coast does it, you know it's going to be legendary. They're teasing new details and an updated release in 2026. Mark those calendars and polish those swords!
In the meantime, the world of Magic is bustling! This year alone has seen jaw-dropping collabs with brands like Final Fantasy, Sonic, Deadpool, and more.
