Buckle up, Assassins! The gaming world is in for a thrill as Ubisoft reshuffles its strategy for Assassin's Creed Shadows' Year Two post-launch content. After the electrifying addition of 'Claws of Awaji' last September, fans may have been gearing up for yet another massive DLC drop. But hold on to your hidden blades, because Ubisoft has a new game plan!
According to Simon Lemay-Comtois, Ubisoft's associate game director, the original blueprint for a mammoth-sized Year Two expansion is off the table. Speaking to JorRaptor, Lemay-Comtois hinted at an exhilarating shift in focus: "It's not going to be a full-on DLC like a season pass of yesteryears! Get ready for some 'chunkier' updates that might just shake your gaming routines!"
This pivot means Assassin's Creed Shadows won't return with a colossal expansion but will instead deliver robust, juicy snippets of content. "For Year Two," Lemay-Comtois promises, "we're moving away from quick-fix content to serve you gourmet updates that'll have you coming back for more high-impact adventures!"
In a bold move, Ubisoft had initially turned 'Claws of Awaji' into a gift for loyal fans, compensating for Shadows' earlier delays. It was a masterstroke following the backlash surrounding the introduction of Yasuke, the trailblazing Black samurai protagonist inspired by real historical events. Yet, despite the mixed initial reception, Shadows continues its journey—now extending its thrill to upcoming platforms like the Nintendo Switch 2 this December!
While Shadows’ leading duo, Naoe and Yasuke, won't be starring in another full-scale saga, don’t despair! They're both starring in a mind-blowing, free limited-time mission tied to an incredible Attack on Titan crossover. Be sure to experience it by December 22!
Adventurers, prepare for Ubisoft’s new content surprises, and gear up to step back into the killer world of Shadows as it ports to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2! Assassin's Creed has no plans of slowing down, and neither should you!
