Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Set to Ignite Arenas This December!

Buckle up, Splitgate fans! The wait is almost over as 1047 Games drops a bombshell. Splitgate: Arena Reloaded is officially revamping arenas on December 17, 2025, across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platform! Get ready for the pulse-pounding action that’s coming back with a vengeance—and guess what? It’s f-r-e-e to play!

What a ride it’s been! Splitgate 2 launched and quickly took a nose-dive earlier this year, stumbling over mixed reviews and a vanishing player base faster than you could say ‘portal!’. Realizing they faced an uphill battle, 1047 Games pulled a gaming plot twist straight out of their own playbook: an ‘unlaunch’. CEO Ian Proulx promised epic changes and now it’s game on, fellow fraggers!

Back when the proverbial sh*t hit the fan, Proulx admitted that Splitgate 2 wasn’t even cooking in the oven yet, something hardcore fans were quick to notice. They wanted a true successor to the first Splitgate, and oh boy, did 1047 listen! From beefed-up basic features, like leaderboards and awesome progression mechanics, to juicy portals and epic mode upgrades—they heard us, the players!

Here's the kicker: Proulx initially aimed for a release in early 2026, but surprise! We’re getting it sooner than expected! Talk about turbocharging development!

So, what’s new in Arena Reloaded? According to today’s hype-filled press release, we’re in for a total reimagination! Brace yourself for major updates as follows:

  • Say goodbye to Factions, Abilities, and select equipment as we go back to the roots with classic arena combat!
  • The progression system is getting a massive overhaul, as is the Ranked system!
  • Feast your eyes and guns on five brand new maps, six fully reworked maps, plus three new Primary Weapons and one killer new Power Weapon: the Railgun!
  • Check out new Arena modes and playlists, and relive the classic arena brawls with even starts and powerups!
  • Feel the rush of reduced store prices and a simplified Battle Pass that doesn’t mess with your head—all while basking in improved cosmetic awesomeness!

On top of all this, they've dropped a bomb in the form of a video led by Josh Watson, former Rocket League game director and now at the design helm of 1047. Arena Reloaded's adding player stats, leaderboards, and a slick career system to keep you hooked!

Originally, we rated Splitgate 2 a middling 7/10, and labeled it ‘a decent successor that never really blew past its predecessor’. With these fuel-powered updates, December’s unveiling might just set our scoreboards on fire!
