Sucker Punch's Iconic Co-Founder, Brian Fleming, Steps Down: A New Era Dawns!

Hold onto your controllers, gamers! The iconic Sucker Punch Productions—renowned for delivering pulse-pounding adventures like Ghost of Tsushima, Sly Cooper, and Infamous—is about to enter a thrilling new chapter! After three dynamic decades of steering the ship, co-founder Brian Fleming is stepping back to make way for an electrifying new leadership team starting January 1, 2026!

Get ready, because veteran Sucker Punch warriors Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley are suiting up as the studio's new co-heads! Connell, an artist turned visionary who has masterfully crafted the Ghost of Tsushima franchise, will rock alongside Bentley, a tech wizard fresh out of DigiPen who's been architecting Sucker Punch's brilliance since 2004.

Sony dropped the big news through a heartfelt tweet, honoring Fleming's legacy and expressing sky-high expectations for the future. "Our deepest thanks and gratitude to Sucker Punch Productions Co-Founder Brian Fleming... Connell and Bentley are a dynamic duo ready to propel us into new adventures!” reads the tweet from PlayStation. We can hardly wait to see what's next!

Founded in 1997 by gaming pioneers Brian Fleming, Bruce Oberg, Darrell Plank, Tom and Cathy Saxton, and Chris Zimmerman, Sucker Punch quickly gained traction by launching the beloved Sly Cooper franchise. Their creativity only soared higher with the thrill-filled Infamous series, which set the stage for their acquisition by Sony in 2011. Under Sony's umbrella, they continued their saga of success with the groundbreaking Ghost of Tsushima and its recent sequel, Ghost of Yōtei, which slashed sales records to bits—hitting 3.3 million copies sold!

With Fleming waving goodbye, fans are left eagerly speculating about Sucker Punch's next move. Could we see more samurai action, or something completely unexpected from the minds that brought unprecedented excitement to our screens?

Stay tuned, because the roller-coaster ride isn’t over yet. Sucker Punch is all geared up and ready to redefine gaming once more!
